Exclusive: Our favorite hobby known as car building has a very distinctive aspect to it, namely the stories that stem from the experiences. Whether you choose function or form, there is habitually a wide array of instances which you will never undergo when buying a ride out of the showroom.
Despite the 370Z being known for its mighty V6 naturally-aspirated engine and its eagerness to become a drift machine, some people choose a different path altogether. How would it perform (or park) as a stanced car in a show full of rumbling Fair Ladies? That is exactly what was on Salem’s mind when he purchased his canvas Z.
Yes, there are a number of stanced Nissans out there, but this one is one of the first Aimgain 3 kits in the universe. Being the first in the Middle East is a huge accomplishment in itself, since stance doctors and garages are extremely scarce in the region. When Salem decided to make the car of his dreams on this platform, he knew it was not going to be a simple task.
After much calculation with the guys at FOS Automotive, he decided on white Work Meister S1 wheels measuring in at 19×12 in the front and massive 19×14 in the rear, giving the car a very special tinge of Need For Speed; something that sets the car apart from the cliché red and black or red and gun metal grey combination.
Oddly, the foil was the easy part. The design he chose to wrap the car with was off a quirky blue and pink GT86 that he had seen on Instagram. All he did was swap the color combination, and voila! Salem agrees that even though the car looks just the way he wants, he would love to add a Big Country Lab spoiler as a final salt sprinkle. He did, however, admit that he prefers the Aimgain 1 over the 3. He decided to go with the Aimgain 3 just to be different from the crowd, and we are happy he did so.
If you haven’t noticed until now, Salem was clearly not building a car that can go fast around a race track. However, he did treat the car with a custom 3-inch exhaust system to bring out the semi-aggressive rumble.
Is Salem’s low life 370Z build here to impress the crowds? Not each one. We all personally know the many haters of non-functional modifications, but that’s exactly what sets this car apart. A performance-driven platform converted into a piece of art is just what the JDM community in UAE needs right about now. We need to learn to accept all types of builds and swaps, just like our family in the West recently has.
Props to Salem for doing things his way and not thinking twice.
