Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is committed to its vision in being a sustainable innovative world-class utility as well as supporting Smart Dubai initiative of His Highness Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of UAE and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai by Introducing 100 EV stations in Dubai, UAE by the end of 2015.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, also added “The introduction of electric vehicles to Dewa’s fleet supports these strategies and complements one of the three initiatives that Dewa is undertaking to achieve the Smart Dubai initiative by the rollout of 100 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations by the end of this year.” This was during his participation in Electric Vehicle Conference in Dubai held on Sunday.
Sustainability, there has always a demand for luxurious hybrid vehicles such as Tesla model S, Fisker Karma, or BMW i8, but no proper EV recharge station was available here until this week’s announcement in the EV Conference, Dubai. DEWA also confirmed the order of eight Renault ZOE electric vehicles.
